Week in School

This week students learned about triagles. We studied primarily about Pappus' theory using the Pythagorean Theorem. Pappus' theory on this utilizes parallelograms to find the area of any triangle, regarless if it is a right triangle. Below is an example of how Pappus is used.

Next week, students will need to take the knowledge of Pappus' so we can formulate the Pythagorean Theorem. Have them study up on Pappus to stay ahead. They can gather information from the following sites:

Time for SAT Reviews!

Parents, as your high schoolers are craming for the SAT coming up this Spring, I have found a great tutorial on YouTube that goes over several problems involved with the SAT. These tutorials are usually no longer than 10 minutes, but I would suggest that you use caution as they are informal. This is merely supplementary in nature and not required. If your child does not have access to the internet at home, please have them stay afterschool for further tutoring. Below is the first in the series. You can find the remainder of the lessons from this lesson, or go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJCLY1eia4U directly to give you the remainder of the sites.
